Nunawading Community Hub is a multi-functional community and sports precinct. Whitehorse City Council planned the development of the 5-star green rated building, supported by FJMT Architects and lead contractors Ireland Brown Constructions. Massive timber Glulam trusses  supplied by Vicbeam support the building’s striking sawtooth roof. The Glulam trusses, made of Vic Ash Hardwood beams, remain exposed in the final build. Vistek provided work drawings in the initial stages of the project. This involved designing the custom made steel plates and bolts necessary for the different sizes of timber beams. The trusses span 23 metres each, and required 264 units of bolts and steel plates. With Vistek’s detailed plans and close collaboration between all parties, the project was able to move smoothly from Vicbeam’s workshop drawings and fabrication to installation on-site.
